Fellow Georgians need your help.
Emergencies and challenging economic times often make it difficult for people to acquire food, shelter, clothing and medical supplies or even pay their utility bills. But programs like Project SHARE provide a way for you to help those truly in need.
By making a donation on your Georgia Power bill, you'll help Project SHARE and The Salvation Army make a difference in your community. For as little as a dollar a month, you can help a neighbor in need. It may be just the thing they need to get back on their feet. You can support Project SHARE by simply adding $1, $2, $5 or $10 to your electric bill payment, and Georgia Power will match your monthly donation. You can sign up for Project SHARE during promotion times or call the Georgia Power number printed on the top of your bill.
Since its inception in 1985, Project SHARE has collected more than $60 million through the donations customers make when they pay their electric bill. Money collected stays in the county from which it originates, so your dollars go to work right in your own backyard—truly neighbors helping neighbors! Once you enroll, your designated contribution will be added to your electric bill and remain there until you notify us you want to discontinue the program. For tax benefits, your monthly gift will be disclosed as a separate line item on your bill.
Last year, Project SHARE provided assistance to approximately 30,000 Georgians, with Georgia Power and its customers contributing $2.5 million to the program. If you'd rather make a one-time donation, call Project SHARE toll-free at 1-800-257-4273 or you can donate directly through the Salvation Army.
