Our focus on keeping our diversity and inclusion efforts moving forward is led by the Chairman, President & CEO of Georgia Power. Our leaders take ownership and drive the effort within their respective organizations. Our objective is to execute our business strategies through competent leadership, technically skilled teams and engaged individuals who feel valued and respected for their ideas, experiences and backgrounds.
Represent the Communities We Serve
From our senior leadership to frontline employees, we enlist talent that not only meets business needs but is also representative of the communities we serve and the changing demographics of the labor pool.
When someone comes to work for us, we strive to ensure that resources and support are in place to foster their personal and professional development. We focus on individual and group mentoring programs, leadership development, career assessments, performance management and numerous career development courses.
Nurture Diverse Supplier Relationships
By nurturing relationships with diverse suppliers including female-, minority- and veteran-owned businesses, we broaden our access to products and services while demonstrating our commitment to economic inclusion across the state of Georgia. In some instances, we can mentor them so they reach their full business potential.
We are committed to developing relationships with diverse communities in Georgia through high levels of engagement in the Asian, Hispanic/Latino, African American and senior citizen communities. We work closely with organizations through board service, strategic planning and support of key initiatives. Organizations such as the Latin American Association, Hispanic Scholarship Fund, Chinese Community Center, Asian American Chamber of Commerce, Council on Aging, Concerned Black Clergy, and the Atlanta Urban League are just a few groups we're working with to address issues of mutual concern. We believe these partnerships ensure the growth and vitality of the diverse communities in which we serve, work and live.
