At Georgia Power, not only are we committed to providing our customers with reliable and affordable service, we are equally dedicated to being good stewards in our community. Our vision to be "Citizen wherever we serve" still holds true more than 100 years after it was initially coined by our first president, Preston Arkwright. Read below to see how we support our neighborhood communities.
Overview and Focus
We have four areas of charitable focus we deem critical: health and human services, education improvement, environmental stewardship, and arts and culture. Our charitable giving commitment occurs through the Georgia Power Foundation, Inc., corporate giving and employee giving. Learn More
Our corporate giving is driven by employees who work with community agencies to identify the best programs to address local needs. Strategic grants are then provided to these community programs. Learn More
Georgia Power employees play important roles in the communities we serve by financially supporting the local community civic organizations. Georgia Power proudly matches many of its employees' charitable contributions. Read more about our Corporate & Employee Charitable Giving commitments.
One example of how our employees give back to their community is through the Club of Hearts nonprofit organization. For more than 50 years, Georgia Power and Southern Company employees in the Atlanta area have contributed millions of dollars to local health and human services organizations through the Club of Hearts. Through the program's Employee Emergency Fund, the Club of Hearts also helps current and retired Georgia Power employees who are experiencing financial hardships. Learn More
