"Friends, Caring and Sharing" — Georgia Power employees have a strong commitment to their communities — even in retirement! Georgia Power Ambassadors is a network of retirees and their spouses who have committed to caring and sharing within their communities through active volunteerism and community support.
Benefits of Membership
With more than 2,500 members in over 19 chapters throughout the state, Georgia Power Ambassadors gain valuable relationships and a true sense of community.
The purpose of the organization is to promote a means of friendly association, foster continuing fellowship, and provide service to the community, while maintaining communication between the retirees and Georgia Power. Officially incorporated under the laws of the state of Georgia on November 1, 1984, the Georgia Power Ambassadors is a 501(c) (10), statewide tax-exempt organization for retired employees and their spouses.

Columbus Ambassadors
Columbus Ambassadors serve the next generation
Members of the Columbus chapter served the young women ages 6-18 involved in Girls, Inc. of Columbus and Phenix-Russell with their annual spaghetti dinner. The mission of Girls Inc. is to inspire all girls to be strong, smart and bold.
Who We Serve
Each year ambassadors donate more than 55,000 community service hours statewide in support of cancer initiatives, school mentoring programs, hospital and nursing homes, and battered women's and children's shelters. The Ambassadors also worked on other local community service projects with organizations such as:
- The Chamber of Commerce
- United Way
- March of Dimes
- Clean Community
- Meals on Wheels
- Habitat for Humanity
- Rebuild Atlanta
- Alzheimer's Association
- Red Cross
Friends, Caring and Sharing
As loyal supporters of the Georgia Power Family House and the Mary Ann Manley House, all chapters make donations of supplies and money and provide a workforce to help take care of special projects at the houses. Each chapter also financially supports the Electric Kids, a registered charity for the children of deceased or disabled Georgia Power employees.
Support from our Ambassadors is vital in helping Georgia Power be "A Citizen Wherever We Serve." But members maintain that the greatest benefit of the organization is the continued association with fellow retirees and the Georgia Power family.
