The Residential Service rate plan is designed for customers who don't mind seasonal price fluctuations in their monthly electric bill and are less inclined to monitor their hourly energy usage in the summer when prices are higher.
Summer Pricing:
Since energy demand is higher during the hot summer months (June – September), generating electricity during this time costs more. The tiered seasonal pricing structure under the Residential Service rate plan is there to ensure the lowest possible price for customers who use less energy.
Winter Pricing:
Because energy is cheaper to generate during the winter months when demand is lower, we can pass those savings on to customers by offering lower rates during this time.
Available discounts:
Related Tariffs, Taxes, and Fees:
We're always trying to pass along our savings to you, so Winter Pricing under the Residential Service rate reflects how the lesser demand for energy in the winter months makes it cheaper to generate.
