While we're monitoring and preparing for Hurricane Milton, we are continuing our restoration efforts in the communities still experiencing the impact from Hurricane Helene. We won't stop until service has been restored everywhere. Please stay aware of the weather and check back here for the latest updates.

Helene Update

As of October 7, 2024, we have restored service to over 1.3 million customers (over 99%), impacted by Hurricane Helene.

Crews working to restore power to customers still impacted

Over 20,000 personnel have contributed to storm restoration efforts, addressing severe infrastructure damage. Restoration efforts are ongoing, particularly in the hardest-hit areas like Augusta. Crews are working around the clock and will remain in the field until all reconnectable customers have service.

Donations and Support

As part of the Southern Company family, Georgia Power is deeply involved in coordinating and contributing to the extensive restoration and relief efforts following Hurricane Helene. Demonstrating a strong commitment to the recovery process, multiple charitable foundations within the Southern Company system have pledged a combined $3 million to support ongoing restoration and relief efforts across the state.
