Georgia Power, Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens celebrate completion of next phase of “Light Up the Night” Crime and Traffic Safety Initiative

In collaboration with the City of Atlanta, Georgia Power has completed the newest phase of the “Light Up the Night” initiative, with over 10,000 streetlights installed, repaired or upgraded in 2022 alone - more than 11,000 total during the latest phase of the project. Streets throughout the city in neighborhoods such as Edgewood, Vine City, Grant Park, Buckhead and Moore’s Mill, to name a few, are safer, brighter and more energy efficient thanks to the program.

To celebrate the achievement, City of Atlanta and DOT officials met with media at Georgia Power headquarters on March 13 for a recap and evening tour to view results of the collaboration.

Customer Solutions and senior leadership, including Bentina Terry, Senior Vice President of Customer Strategy and Solutions, and Lisa Smith, Senior Vice President of Regulatory External Affairs and Community Engagement, were in attendance, along with Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens.
